Deliveroo Offers 10-minute Grocery Delivery

Deliveroo ($DROOF@UK) is jumping into the grocery delivery space with its service that ships fresh food and other goods to shoppers’ doors in just 10 minutes. The food delivery company is partnering with British supermarket chain Morrisons to launch the service dubbed “Hop”. To begin, service will be available in southwest London. It will use a “dark store”, which is a small warehouse that stores items to prepare them for delivery by a fleet of couriers. Morrisons ($MRWSY@UK) will act as the wholesales stocking Deliveroo’s inventory. Deliveroo is among several companies that have raised hundreds of millions of dollars this year in the online grocery boom during the coronavirus pandemic.
