DeFi Bug Accidentally Gives Users Millions
Description
Around $90.1 million mistakenly went to users of the DeFi staking platform Compound after an upgrade went tragically wrong. The price of the COMP native token fell 13% after the news broke. Alchemix had a similar incident occur a few months ago, and almost everyone who received the tokens gave them back. In the case of Compound, founder Robert Leshner is not so optimistic, “If you received a large, incorrect amount of COMP from the Compound protocol error: Please return it. Keep 10% as a white-hat. Otherwise, it’s being reported as income to the IRS, and most of you are doxxed.”
