With fun think a bit

I fumbled and thought a bit
When asked to answer
The following riddles
Though I enjoyed quite a bit
And now I am passing them
To you all my dear friends
To share and think a bit

Relax a moment
For they carry both
Fun and wit
And in the end
They may bring delight
A sentence or a verse
A phrase or a word
That reads the same
When read forward or backward

Now let me start
What it is
When pronounced as one letter
But written with three
And black or blue it is

Upside down when viewed
The same the word reads
What it is

A language spoken
By some in South India
What it is

A word with respect
Is used to address a woman
What it is
Instances are many
But a few here are exemplary

Was it a bat I saw
Was it a cat I saw
Was it a rat I saw
Was it a mat I saw
Was it a hat I saw
Written backwards
Will remain the same
As written forwards
Of these sentences

This is the charm of English
My dear friends
Our minds require mental food
May be wise or good
Away from tedious things
Unvarying in pitch or cadence
Sometimes wish to rest on lighter things
Hence redeeming time
I have played palindrome riddles
