DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK - The inevitable

Great is the God
Who has shaped this world,
My soul and my body
Ears, nose, eyes and cheeks
All well set and look busy
As crafted with precision
By His majesty
I played with angels
In the early morning
Happy and sublime
And in the evening
Seen angels me caressing
Ears not hearing
Eyes not twinkling
And cheeks settling on new latitude
Where as if a new soul conceived
Tilting from east to west
Seeking as if in heaven a quiet rest
Scared I run to a doctor
Wishing to know its identity
Diagnosed and spelt out as Bell's palsy
Oh doctor what it is
A sort of a facial paralysis, he said
And with treatment
It could be buried in its grave
While I was not expecting it, it came
Came with a distressing fear
And who could stop an alien
That comes armed and sudden
To destroy your bastion
Antidote successfully employed
To expel it to its domain
After a few days'suffering
Descends a sense of paralysing bliss
A mirror of glazed face with sunshine
That was missing............
