Deepa Thomas - What Makes Me Special?

One day, God decided
To make a beautiful creation
Unique in all aspects
His angels came to help him
In all different forms
As mothers, grandmothers,
Sisters, friends, teachers, strangers
And bestow special gifts
On his special creation
Each of them gave what they had special-
Love, care, purity, compassion,
Beauty, forgiveness, sensibility.....

Today, When I look back,
I'm what I'm
Because of these amazing women
Who are in my life
Who never lived in spotlight,
But behind the scenes,
Where applause never seems to reach.
Gifts they gave and
The mission they entrusted
To reach out others
In the same way,
Make me unique and special.
