Deep Fried Rock Cod

I just got back from a fishing trip to the north coast of California in the little town of Gualala. Now, Gualala is a tiny town, but, there is a lot of outdoor fun to be had there. On this particular trip, we were once again fishing for California rock cod.

Gualala is sort of a home away from home for myself and a few fishing buddies of mine, we’ve been fishing up here for the past 30 years or so. Sometimes, we do a little salmon fishing or even a little crabbing, but mostly, we’re fishing for rock cod on this part of the coast. Over the years, a friend of mine sort of refined a beer batter recipe for rock cod.
