Dee Wright - Cry Me A River(for Gordon)

The tears I cried for you
all seeped into my pillow
staining it with my sorrow
mascara and lipstick.

When I woke up
the pillow resembled
a Jackson Pollock

so I did what any self respecting aritist would do.

I framed it and entitled it: 'YOU BASTARD YOU! '

Sold it a year later
to a geezer in a nice new pinstripe suit
who kept on repeating:
'Brilliant...fucking brilliant! '

for a (sorry snicker) a hundred knicker!

Bought two expensive bottles of bubbly and got drunk.

Ah! You can cry me a river...
...but now I'm over you.

And I'll always remember: 'YOU...
YOU BASTARD YOU! '

- the only work I ever produced not using paints
just sorrow and make up and sleep.

Guess you can call us quits!
