Dee Daffodil - Let Me Get to Know Me

I've gotten to know you, very well,
And so you say, 'Why must you go? '

I know you love me dearly,
And I in turn love you.

But even though I love you,
There's something I must do.

You see, I know you, better,
Than I've ever known myself.

So, now the time has come love,
For me to find the truth.

For...who am I, and what am I,
And what am I to do?

I know not all the answers,
In fact, I know too few.

So, now the time has come dear,
For me to leave you here.

And search for all the answers,
I'm hoping will appear.

It's time for me to go now,
And get to know myself.

I'm hoping you'll be proud,
As you watch me walk away.

It's not that I've stopped loving you,
I only want a break.

Please, let me get to know me,
The way that I know you.

It's time I got to know me...
It's the least that I can do.
