Having cuddles,
And playing with my hair

you're getting so heavy!
Have you been eating bricks? '

Then...

Flash! !

Oh sure,
You come for cuddles now
But just wait
Soon you'll have friends
And then you'll be outside,
All the time
Playing soccer,
Or street hockey
Then you'll be driving a car
Then you'll be off to college
Then you'll be moving out,
On your own.

And

You'll never visit
You'll never write

Eyes welling up with tears
As somber thought hits.

But for now,
Let's cuddle
'Cuz after all
You're only three!
