Decline In Demand For Chips
Description
U.S. chip makers such as Intel ($INTC@US), Micron Technology ($MU@US), Texas Instruments ($TXN@US), and GlobalFoundries ($GFS@US) are facing a decrease in consumer demand for electronic gadgets, creating uncertainty about how long the slowdown will last. As of a few months ago, consumer demand for computer chips, which are used in computers, smartphones, and cars, was in high demand. Rising inflation and U.S. restrictions on sales to customers in China have created a sharp decrease in demand.
