Decentraland (MANA) Plays Hard

Ethereum-based virtual world platform Decentraland was outperforming the wider cryptocurrency market late Monday amid metaverse optimism. Its token, MANA, moved higher alongside other Metaverse plays like The Sandbox and Enjin Coin as the global cryptocurrency market cap remained flat. MANA gained traction among retail traders as the token trended on Stocktwits and CoinMarketCap. Rapper Ice Cube offered a guided tour in Decentraland through a tweet on Monday, inviting visitors to check out what he called the “coolest show in town.” The show, titled Man vs. Machine, contained art by him and Trevor Jones, a traditional painter beginning to explore a collaboration of art and tech. Meanwhile, a Chinese New Year Carnival, organized by Metaverse Labs, is also taking place on Decentraland. Additionally, the announcement of Steve Aoki’s Australian Open metaverse party may have contributed to the token’s rise. The party occurred in the Decentraland metaverse this past weekend and hosted performances by several artists. The Australian Open, watched by hundreds of thousands of people, is one of the largest annual tennis tournaments, and its reputation helps enhance Decentraland’s legitimacy.
