Le groupe Death est a l'origine de la musique du même nom. Si leurs débuts étaient cacophoniques (bien que deja prometteur, Scream Bloody Gore), le groupe avec le temps est devenu le leader de tout le mouvement. Chaque nouvel album de Death était une nouvelle étape dans l'hsitoire de la musique éponyme.

Suite a quoi, Chuck Schuldiner, le chanteur / leader / copositeur du groupe succombera au cancer qui le rongeait depuis des années.

Il nous laisse un héritage de frustration, de haine et de désespoir qui alimentera des années encore le Metal. Rare sont les groupes de death metal a avoir attent la perfection de Symbolic.
