​Today, being able to step into the kitchen and prepare dinner is a massive "win" for me. For those who know what I’ve been going through, navigating this unprecedented medical storm has made even the simplest tasks a real challenge.

​When it comes to using the stove or oven, I have to be incredibly careful and cautious. The heat can have a direct, negative effect on my skin, and too much exposure could potentially trigger a flare-up. For me, a flare-up isn't just uncomfortable—it can mean an immediate and noticeable breakout in the form of a rash or swollen facial features. It’s certainly not the most glamorous reality to describe, but it is my real life right now. To manage, I have to adapt by wearing thick mittens and keeping the AC running high just to keep my body cool.

​But despite the extra steps, I pushed through with grit and determination! On the menu tonight is a beautifully cooked roast, fresh mixed vegetables, and perfectly toasted garlic bread, paired with a glass of ice-cold lemonade.

I’m so incredibly proud of myself for making this happen today!
