Day Programs for Adults with Disabilities

Adults with disabilities face more challenges than other adults. They suffer from depression and anxiety at a higher rate and may feel isolated at times. To combat these issues, Elwyn offers several day programs for adults with disabilities that aim to engage, empower, and enrich their lives.

Elwyn’s adult day care programs are designed to meet the needs of each individual. The day programs for adults with disabilities provide a variety of activities designed to build self-esteem, self-reliance and confidence. The goal of these programs is to encourage the development of communication, help with fine and gross motor skills, teach independent daily living, and to keep individuals stimulated and engaged throughout the day.

Some adults may opt to enroll in vocational training classes while attending the adult day programs. Vocational training instills a sense of independence, and enriches their lives by helping these adults with special needs interact with people in their community.
