Davon Clark - Heartbreak Lane

Some say it's our God forsaken right, to be loved, to be held,
Yet my heart reminds me of that broken promise, still stuck in this shell,
It hurts a bit less, though, I'm almost used to it now-
A girl with me on her mind? A moment worthy of a wow,
My healing heart skipped when she had said the first part of what she told me,
Then it stopped, when I heard the second-almost brought down to my knees,
He always gets them, I don't get it,
One last year,2 this one, I'm really startin' to take a hit,
All of them, perfection manifested, yet he turns them away,
He has them licking from his hand, while I just have to dream all day,
Maybe the chain texts are true, I'm caught in a curse,
Maybe my looks, personality, all the above? It just can't get any worse,
I look up in the sky, hoping to find the solution,
Not even God has my answers, I don't want to accept that conclusion,
Reality has already set in, though, so my fate has been set,
Love, I may have..but never getting to use it, I regret.
