Billy the goat was a builder
With his nanny he built a small boat
They collected up bark twigs and oak leaves
Plus bits from the farmers torn coat

The chickens were missing some feathers
All stuck to a bath made of tin
The bark and the twigs patched the holes up
Where rust caused the holes to begin

They used an adhesive called cow pat
Smelly but boy did it stick
Collected it fresh in a bucket
Then spread on the boat pretty quick

Billy was quite the explorer
He thought of his boat in a dream
How he’d stand at the helm when it’s finished
Without maps he would cross the great stream

The animals gazed in amazement
At the boat with its feathers and bark
Agreeing the best time to launch it
Would be after tea in the dark

They all shoved it down to the water
All saying it smelt like a skunk
At the helm Billy floated off proudly
Till the bits all fell off and it sunk
