Little ladies sprinkle chocolate
On the special weekend cake
Dad will put it in the oven
Left alone to let it bake

Hands and faces sticky mixture
Floured noses dirty toes
Drips of filling on their aprons
Some on sleeves just where it shows

Kitchen table like a war zone
Wooden spoons and whisks around
Butter packets scattered raisins
Many bits the floor now found

Dad collected bits for washing
In the sink with soapy waters
Wipes the table and the floor down
Cleans the mixture from his daughters

All now cleaned he checks the oven
Baked real well as they can see
The little ladies pack it special
And take it round for Grandma’s for tea
