David Thomas - Why (The)

I do it because it is what my heart tells me,
because unlike many,
I fear no whim of my lovely epicenter.
This is what I do,
on those late summer days
where it is as if these beautiful clouds,
as if they speak to you.
Nature, my mother, eternal lover,
and friend,
You and my heart, will and soul
guide this pen as if His whim
command it.
Can none of you see it?
Thousands of ideas, just buzzing through
my head... No?
