David Thomas - To Be Alone

To see all the people
everywhere you look
and your mind's eye only seeing
those that make you see,
to be alone in a crowded room,
to be alone in a dense forest,
to feel alone
when no one wants to be around you,
to know that alone is only
when you force away those that come,
leads you thinking to yourself quietly,
why am i alone? why do i push?
where is the wave to pull with my push?
at the end of the day,
tell me what you feel.

we all know that pain.
