David Thomas - Nature

if nature had lips,
they would be soft and kind,
pink with a lil shimmer of red
and they'd taste like wild berries

If nature had eyes,
they would be gentil yet fierce,
an array of colors together
and they'd look like wild emotions

If nature had hands,
they would be strong and soothing,
sun-toned pale
and many intricate wild lines

If nature had feet,
they would be bare,
pale with some freckles
and they'd tickle in wild grass

If nature had a temper,
it would be very triumphant,
all the shades of gray
and it'd rampage wildly about things

If nature had a passion,
it would be breeding life,
greens and blues galore
and it'd run wild over the mainline

If nature had a heart and soul,
it would be weathered but kind,
a lush red with oranges some violet
and an open wild door

If nature had a body,
it would be very old,
no one would appreciate it
and nature's wild would be gone.
