David Taylor - For My True Friend

He stood there
smiling, shining in the dusk.
I leant against him,
enveloped in his light.
He said nothing,
I thought nothing.
Words fell to the ground
making tinkling sounds
like broken glass.
All that they contained
released from all confinement
in just being.
