david lessard - lost.

Description
I got lost and can't find the way
I ended up in Alberquerque,
hada green chiil burro as a desertie.
now I'm in wandering in Tucumcari,
and the road ahead looks scary,
a stretch of flat land goin' on forever,
a test of hardiness is my next endeavor.
here I am in Arizona, Phoenix straight ahead,
nothing moving out in the desert,
maybe everything is dead?
I write parched notes in my old journal,
realizing, animals are nocturnal!
it's called the valley of the sun,
115 degrees, without air-conditioning,
it's not much fun;
give me shade and a tall cool, quaff,
I head north, to milder Flagstaff.
but I'm lost again, now in Showlow,
how'd I get here? Damned if I know.
I believe it's here I'll spend the night,
and think where I am going, tomorrow,
at first light.
