Kith and kin to poisonous reptiles,
cobwebbed lawyers wash down
huevos rancheros with gin-and-catatonics.
Infinitely greedy and patient vultures
circle a sun which obeys no laws.


The gila monster wind slases
scorched sagebrush like scythes.
Parched bougainvillea shrivel beneath
the demonic sun.


Miss Spindle's first grade class
obediently shuffles and stumbles
towards school, their faces smothered
beneath great voracious horseflies.


Their brains boil in their skulls.
Their blood bubbles in their veins.
Demons fornicate in their lunchboxes.
