David Keig - Alone Within My Dreams

This is a very personal poem. I am separated and this is to each of my children


I'd like to wake you in the morning
See the sunrise in your hair
And then be there at sun set
Wanting, wishing to be there.

I would like to see you sleeping
And hear your breath all through the night
I would like you to call out for me
When yet I hold you tight.

I would like to see the magic
Still sparkling in your eyes
I would like to be just near to you
When you laugh and if you cry.

But all this not possible
Not possible it seems
For I can only be with you
Alone within my dreams.
