David Harris - You Silly Stump Hole

Many times, I’ve read poems
where the author
has resulted to swear words
one after the other
to get some point across.
The problem is their work
then seems vulgar and cheap
and I stop reading their work.
With a little thought,
they could use an alternative word
and that might even brighten
up their work.
It just makes you grit your teeth
and go Grrr
and then under your breath say
“You silly stump hole.”
