David Harris - The Bay

A silver finger of moonlight
stretches across the bay
highlighting tiny boats
tugging at their moorings
in a bid to be set free.
It silhouettes two lovers
sitting on the shore
fighting at the restraints of love
in a bid to set them free.
The silver finger shimmers
on ripples from a breeze
as around the bay is silence
waiting for the dawn
to remove its gag
and set its sounds free.
