David Harris - Sad Poetry

People often wonder why
I write a lot of sad poetry
for when they meet me
I seem a happy-go-lucky guy.
What they don’t realize
is that all my friends
live hundreds and thousands of miles away.
There are no hugs at my doorway
or special greeting when special seasons come.
Only sadness adorns my face.
One day hopefully that will change,
but I will have to wait and see.
