David Harris - Make Believe Life

In my make believe life
I fall in love with everyone I meet,
even with strangers
my heart falls at their feet.
I am happy with my life
though it is only make believe
for within it only love is all I know.
It reverses things I have been through,
the sadness and the pain;
the lonely adolescent years
now become filled with love and friends
where in reality I had neither of them.
I journey through the world
with my head held high,
where there are no limits
to how high I can fly.
My, make believe life is the best,
one could ever get,
always filled with sunshine and smiles
and love from hearts of gold.
Imaginary it might be,
but if you can tell me a better one,
I might give it a try.
