David Harris - I’m Going West

I’m going west.
Where the snow capped mountains
reach up to the heavens
and their streams
sparkle under the warming sun.

I’m going west.
Where the wild flowers grow
and spread a coloured blanket
as far as the eye can see,
and the majestic deer run free.

I’m going west.
To God’s Garden of Eden,
a place of peace and tranquillity.
Where skies are always blue
like skies aught to be.

I’m going west.
To a land that is free
from all the hatred I see.
Where each day is filled
with wonder from dawn to dusk.

I’m going west to be me.
