David Harris - Christmas Eve
9 Views • Oct 29, 2014
Description
there was a drink and food on the table
waiting for Santa to come.
Outside the snow was falling
for a white Christmas to be.
The children were all tucked in their bed
after the bedtime stories had been read.
The Christmas tree lights twinkled
as peace descended all around.
Only the sleigh bells outside could be heard,
while up in the sky could be seen
a plump man with a beard
in sleigh driven by eight reindeer
shouting out a jolly Ho! Ho!
Down chimneys he slid with his big bag of toys,
visiting each house in turn as he passed on his way
to deliver everything before
the dawning light of Christmas day.
His magic would enthral the hearts of the old and the young.
When he was finished he shouted to everyone,
Have very Merry Christmas and to all a goodnight.
In a blink of an eye he started back
to the North Pole steering his reindeer
and was gone for another year.
