David Harris - Bite Your Tongue

Many times I have had to bite my tongue
to stop hurt and insults coming out.
No one needs to be upset
buy the silly things they do.
Misleading words, corrupted stories
spread like wildfire
creating more injury and embarrassment
no one should have to endure.
So I bite my tongue
when anything inappropriate comes to me.
In this world so many tears are shed
and who am I to add to them.
I'd rather bite my tongue instead.
Every story gets fabricated
when it is passed on to someone else
and soon the fabrication
is believed to be true.
Only the irresponsible will spread lies
with no truth in them
instead of biting their tongue before they speak.
I have felt so many times
how fabrications can hurt
and draw you back into your shell.
So the next time someone speaks of insults and lies
just hold your tongue
and walk on your way.
