David Harris - All I Ever Wanted

All I ever wanted was a peaceful life,
but all I ever got was trouble
and a lot of strife.
I wanted at times
was to be left alone in my own company,
but always people wanted to crowd me,
for what reason I’m not sure.
I still long for peace and quiet
something I never seem to get.
I want to sit and dream at times
without being disturbed.
However, that is easier said than done
for every quiet moment I seem to get
someone wants to disturb it with endless chatter
I don’t care much about.
So I close my ears
and hope that they will go away.
