David Harris - A Flickering Candle

With a flickering candle,
she walks the streets alone
looking for her lover
who failed to come home.
Is he in the arms of someone new?
Has he forsaken her
only time will tell?
Until then she walks alone
with a flickering candle as a friend.
Each night you will see her
calling out his name
as the shadows fall,
never receiving a reply
to her pleading call.
