Daveyton residents resist evictions

Tensions are threatening to boil over in Daveyton on Gauteng’s East Rand. The City of Ekurhuleni is moving ahead with plans to evict dozens of alleged RDP home invaders. But angry locals refuse to budge. Earlier this month, etv exposed how some elderly land claimants have been applying for an RDP home in Daveyton since 1996 while people born the same year received houses before them.
