Darood e ibrahimi

Darood e Ibrahimi is a Arabic phrase, which translates to "The Blessings of Ibrahim" in English. It is a common Islamic prayer and a way of sending blessings upon the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his family. The full prayer is:

"Allahumma salli ala Muhammadin wa ala aali Muhammadin, kama sallaita ala Ibrahim wa ala aali Ibrahim, innaka hamidun majid.

"Allahumma barik ala Muhammadin wa ala aali Muhammadin, kama barakta ala Ibrahim wa ala aali Ibrahim, innaka hamidun majid."

Which means:

"O Allah, send Your Mercy upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, just as You sent Your Mercy upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are the Most Praised, the Most Glorious.

O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, just as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are the Most Praised, the Most Glorious."

This prayer is often recited at the end of letters, emails, and messages as a way of sending blessings and good wishes to the recipient.
