Danielle Crumpton - Bleed (emotionally)

in this poem, when it says bleed, what it means it to be emotionally drained.here it goes.

This is who i am,
this is why i bleed:
Its the only way i know how to live,
i've been this way since i was a kid.
At night i cry,
always wondering why.
to feel something is what i need,
but instead
I BLEED
