I gaze into the broad, fading blue,
And I find nothing I’m searching for.
A prayer of desperation I recite,
Longing to reunite what I knew,
But no wind for my kite, no water on shore.

Eyelids of my eyes grow so heavy,
And the surrounding world slowly fades.
As I walk the fields without my sight,
I follow only the voices heard,
Ready to walk wherever they desire.

On the God of my youth have I turned,
To walk on hot coals not meant for me.
A selfish bard longing after my own lusts—
The rite of flesh I’ve chosen and earned,
Now a priest of darkness—king of misery.

Wish for darkened days to turn to light,
Satanic walls, to again—crumble.
Night and day I want captured—to be made ours—
Kingdom of Heaven, and all its stars!
To be humble again, I wish for and fight.
