In the Hoops Bar on the Gallowgate
The Celtic fans did congregate,
They traveled in through the pouring rain
From Bonnybridge and Robroyston,

Soaked to the skin, they had a pint
Sat in the corner by the Seville print,
The speakers in the pub blared out Celtic songs
As the faithful gladly sang along.

It was a dreech, black night to watch the Celtic play
As we rode in a taxi up Parkhead’s way,
Supporters made haste up the Gallowgate
Leaving their departure from pubs, a little bit late,

But what a welcome we did embrace
As the Motherwell players embarrassingly hid their face,
Stan Petrov scored his first Celtic hat trick
Coupled by goals from Maloney and a Nakamura free kick.

Rangers travelled that night over to west Lothian
To play against Paul Lambert’s Livingston,
Our throats became hoarse, our throats became raw
When we heard that, the Rangers only managed a 2-2 draw,

Paul Lambert’s name echoed around Celtic Park
We are convinced that the Hoops still cradle his heart,
And we left Parkhead on that miserable night
Relishing the victory over Motherwell by the bhoys in green
