Daniel Boston - Forbidden Love

She brightens up my day
the moment she walks in
and takes a seat close by me
we talk about our day
the weather, the weekend, the everything
though the words are between two people
I am in a world of company
my conscience lingers as we speak
my thoughts all rushed around
between the girl I claim my own
and who I talk to now

Our loyalty is astounding
two years
two years
now I find myself doubting,
the love which I still possess
goes by another name

By now we are done talking
she walks alone to class
my heart and mind can't help each other
and I am inbetween
my phone will ring sometime today
and I will know the voice
but I will hear a slightly different pitch
the one my guilt enjoys

I sleep alone regardless
because that's not the reason why
I talk to God my therapist
to help me choose a side
and I pray God will guide me
high from up above
and help me sort the right from wrong
in this forbidden love
