Description

I lie awake.
My eyes wide open.
My skin is crawling.

Last night I lost you.
Wait, no.
Last night I found out you were never mine.

When I was little.
I realized there were some men in this world,
who want to prey on young women and little girls.

I never thought you were one of them.
You held me as I cried because of my evil step-daddy.
I thought I had a safe place when I was in your arms.

Now I know there is no safe place.
Now I feel like your evil is inside.
It eats at my guts.

It shoots out of my mouth.
I spit your poison back in your face.
I want it to burn the eyes from your head.

May the gods strike all of you blind.
The funny thing is that the gods made us all this way.
There is inherent evil in all of us.

I remember there are evil gods as well.
The more you believe in the gods the more power they have.
No wonder as a child, the demons would sit at the foot of my bed.

I wonder how many adults are frightened in the dark.
How many people have demons at the end of their beds through out their lives?
How many of those demons are replaced by the succubus?

I lie awake.
My eyes wide open.
My skin is crawling.
