Damien Nicholson - Disillusioned

After sleepless nights, but days spent dreaming
not sure about life and its true meaning
up and down like a thermometers mercury
disillusioned, is a word best to decribe me
as each day begins and another one ends
I'm just following the masses not setting the trends
I'm tempted to say that the world is unkind
but maybe I'm searching for something I wont find
I've seen the seasons, seen the sun
the stars that shine on everyone
observed the rivers meet the seas
the tree's and plants, make the air we breath
I've watched the world from my window, and how its changed
even the ordinary is seemingly strange
dark nights follow dark days, apart from a week of holidays
and I dream of being able to sleep
whilst wide awake at night I weep
I'm going nowhere but at great speed
only I'm not sure how to satisfy my needs
