Dalia Butterfly - Soulmate

A soulmate comes once in a lifetime
Some never live to see that moment
Some allow it to slap them across the face
And yet they still turn away
Some simply don’t believe there is such a thing as a soulmate.

I’ve been lucky. I’ve been exceptionally fortunate.
I’ve met my soulmate.
I’ve touched him. I’ve made love to him.
I’ve shared my dreams with him.
I’ve planned my life with him.

And now, I’ve lost him.
What is life’s meaning now?
How could any other life compare to a life with my soulmate?
How could any other words touch me
The way I’m touched by his?
How could any other actions move me
The way I’m moved by his?

I will never circum the pain of losing him
He has engraved my heart forever
And some day
Many years from now
I will close my eyes and die knowing
That I had the love of my life, my soulmate
And lost him
