I blame myself
for what happened to you
what my aunt said
sounded too true

my heart aches and bleeds
at the thought of you dying
then poor helpless me
sitting and crying

I re-read the letter
until I could see
you needed someone,
you needed me

I still wake up crying
because i saw you
it was only a dream
but it breaks my heart in two

Dad i miss you
no matter what they say
i loved you more then anything,
come what may

you did your very best
as a father and a friend
you kindness and love
will be remembered until the end
