Daffodil Jackson - Our Mam.
4 Views • Nov 08, 2014
Description
And a caustic tongue,
Our Mam taught the difference
Between right and wrong.
...
She was an awkward old devil
And by God could she cuss.
But she was 'Our Mam'
And we could have done wuss.
...
For although we were poor
We always got fed.
There'd be big pots of stew
And doorsteps of bread.
...
And at Christmas and birthdays
Our Mam did us proud.
Celebrations at our house
Were raucously loud.
...
But now we're all grown
And have long left the nest.
Our Mams work is done
And she's gone to her rest.
...
Re-united with Dad
And free from all pain.
Goodnight our Mam
Till we meet again.
