Description

A token battle is taking place, 65 years on in remembrance. A WW2 combat outpost has been built to portray the day-to-day lives of U.S. infantrymen on the front line.

Quentin, a seventeen years old student, has joined the “Rock of the Marne” association 3 years ago to honor the 3rd Infantry Division that landed in Southern France and sustained one of the highest numbers of casualties during WW2. Most members of this association are between 20 to 30 years old as the American soldiers they portray and pay tribute to.

All village schoolboys had the chance to visit the camp last Friday as well as the photographic exhibition located nearby. 24 photos depicting the 24 hours of D-Day displayed to honor the memory fallen U.S. soldiers.

As for Quentin and the “Rock of the Marne” association, the commemorations are far from being over next August they will accompany the American veterans who will relive their history from the beach of St Tropez to the hills of Alsace.
