Description

1909 Herring-Curtiss Pusher
A Pusher is “headed” when it has a horizontal flying surface in front of the pilot, known as a foreplane or a canard. The Herring-Curtiss Pusher has both a front and a tail canard. Aviation pioneer Glenn H. Curtiss is known as the father of naval aviation. Among many other important aviation accomplishments, Curtiss was responsible for the first aircraft to take off from and land on the decks of ships at sea.
