Current AI safety standards ‘completely nuts, says professor

“We have an absurd situation where we have more safety standards for a San Francisco-based company that wants to sell sandwiches than those wanting to sell super intelligence.”

That’s the view of Professor Max Tegmark who researches AI at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who wants safer AI measures so safe tools can help us and not take over.
