Description

UNSC punished North Korea over nuclear test.
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has imposed sanctions against North Korea in response to its fourth nuclear test and missile launch.
List of sections imposed:
1. All cargo going to and from North Korea will be inspected on all airports and sea ports destined for and coming from North Korea.
2. Severe restrictions on exports of iron, iron ore, coal, gold, titanium and rare earth minerals from North Korea and also prohibits their supply.
3. Banning sales of small arms.
4. Strict inspection of vessels(large ships) suspected of carrying illegal goods for North Korea from sea ports.
5. U.N. member states have been asked to ban North Korea from opening banks. It has also asked to close any bank which is believed to be associated with North Korea's nuclear and missile programs.
6. U.N. member states are directed to remove North Korean diplomats and foreign nationals engaged in illegal activities.
7. The sancton bans member states from allowing North Korea to charter foreign vessels(large ship) or aircraft, and also bans all nations from operating any vessels that use North Korean flags. The sancton prohibit the supply of aviation fuel including rocket fuel.

Delhi launched HPV vaccine as public health programme in schools .
Delhi has become the first state in the country to launch the Human Papilloma virus (HPV) vaccine as a public health programme for school children. HPV is a DNA virus from the papilloma virus family. It is mainly a sexually transmitted infection that causes genital tumor and cervical cancer. The HPV vaccine protects people against the group of 150 HPVs infections.
This vaccination programme will be completed in the current academic year over two phases. In the first year, girls studying in Class 6 in government schools will be targeted and in the next year girls between the age of 9 and 13 will be targeted. In the first phase of the vaccination programme, about 1 to 1.5 lakh school girls will be targeted and later this initiative will be expanded to the private schools.

Ratan Thiyam selected for 11th META Lifetime Achievement Award.
Indian playwright and theatre director Ratan Thiyam has been selected for prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for 2016 at the 11th edition of the Mahindra Excellence Theatre Awards (META).
Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META) is presented by the Mahindra Group. It started in year 2006 as one of the Indian theatre industry’s premier awards. It recognise and reward all aspects of theatre production and stage craft.

Chapchar Kut festival celebrated in Mizoram.
Chapchar Kut, is the traditional festival of the Mizos. The festival was organised jointly by the state art and culture department and the Young Mizo Association.
It is celebrated during March after completion of their most difficult task of Jhum operation (shifting cultivation in which jungles are burned to clear for farming).
Mizos celebrate this festival with great passion and joy by dressing in their traditional clothes and dancing to the regional traditional songs. Traditional Mizo dances includes Cheraw, Chheihlam, Sarlamkai and Khuallam.

Napoleon Singh promoted as International Hockey Umpire.
Hockey national-level umpire Nepoleon Singh has been promoted to the International Outdoor Umpire by the International Hockey Federation (FIH).
This decision was taken after seeing his performance in the 12th South Asian Games 2016, held at Guwahati from 5 to 16 February.
Napoleon is 30 years old and is now among young umpires from India.
