Green technology for water purification.
Indian scientists have developed an eco-friendly nanotechnology for water-softening applications that could be used in civic water treatment plants for generating potable water. It was developed by the team of scientists from Guwahati (Assam) based Institute of Advance Study in Science & Technology (IASST). This material, is the first of its kind biopolymer with potential to act as a biodegradable and green material for water-softening applications.

PM Narendra Modi conferred Saudi Arabia’s highest civilian honour.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred Saudi Arabia's highest civilian honour- the King Abdulaziz Sash. The Prime Minister was conferred the prestigious award by King Salman bin Abdulaziz at the Royal Court.
The award has been named after Abdulaziz Al Saud, the founder of the modern Saudi state. The award is bestowed upon citizens of Saudi Arabia and foreigners for meritorious service to the Saudi Kingdom. King himself makes awards to foreigners.

Nico Rosberg wins F1’s Bahrain Grand Prix.
German racing driver for Mercedes Formula One team - Nico Rosberg has won the 2016 Gulf Air Formula One Bahrain Grand Prix held at Bahrain International Circuit in Manama. It was Rosberg’s overall sixteenth championship title of F1 in his career and the second win in the year2016.

World's first white tiger safari opens in Madhya Pradesh.
World's first white tiger sanctuary was inaugurated in the forest area of Mukundpur in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. It was inaugurated and opened to public by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar and union Steel Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.
The first of its kind safari has cost Rs. 50 crore and is spread over an area of 25 hectares. The forest area has three white tigers including two females named Vindhya and Radha and one male named Raghu, two Bengal tigers of more usual fur colour and some bears.
