Cuba abolishes tax on US dollars

Cuba has eliminated a 10 percent tax on US dollars that has been in effect since 2004. The government has expanded the dollar's use to allow the purchase of food and cleaning products as the country battles an economic crisis triggered by a drop-off in tourism as a result of the coronavirus, and the ongoing US economic embargo.
